Call for Papers

THE CALL FOR PAPERS IS CLOSED. Thank you for your submissions. Your papers are being reviewed. Please check the ACCEPTED ABSTRACTS page to see accepted topics to be presented at the conference.

Proposals for complete sessions, panels, and symposia are encouraged. A session proposal should include names, affiliations, and topics of presenters (generally 3 presenters), chair (who can also be a presenter) and discussant(s). Session organizers’ e-mail and phone number should be provided; session organizers are responsible for making sure that all abstracts are submitted by the due date (session proposals due Jan 15; abstracts due Jan 31). A panel should include a chairperson and 3-5 panelists who will comment on an issue and lead discussion, without presenting a formal paper. A symposium can include several sessions on a specific theme, with varied format, including paper presentations, audience participation, training sessions and practical exercises, etc.

SESSION, PANEL, AND SYMPOSIUM PROPOSALS ARE DUE BY JANUARY 15: email to sessions@ussee.org or mail to the USSEE at P.O. Box 44326 West Allis, WI 53214. Include the subject category in the header of your email.

INDIVIDUAL PAPER ABSTRACTS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED BY JANUARY 31. You can also submit a proposal for a poster and/or brief presentation. Posters will be prominently displayed and an opportunity will be provided for poster authors to give a brief (5 minute) “speed talk” describing their topic, followed by a period when conference participants can gather to discuss the topic with the author. This provides a setting for a more informal discussion.

Abstracts (500 words maximum, including title and abstract, but not author affiliations) should be submitted online.  If you do not have internet access, then please print out your abstract clearly and mail to: USSEE Conference P.O. Box 44326 West Allis, WI 53214

On acceptance, to be announced by March 15, 2009, abstracts will be published to the Conference Proceedings and available for viewing on-line once the presenting author has duly registered for the conference.

Abstracts must include:
1) Paper title
2) Thematic area number and title (see below listing)
3) Author, institutional affiliation, country of origin
4) E-mail
5) Abstract (up to 500 words)
