Skidmore College visiting position in Environmental Studies
Visiting Assistant Professor: Environmental Social Science
The Environmental Studies Program at Skidmore College seeks an environmental social scientist for a one-year visiting assistant professor with the possibility of a second year renewal beginning September 1st, 2011. The successful candidate will be strongly interdisciplinary with primary training in the social sciences and teaching and research interests related to the policy and economics of agriculture, energy, or planning and development. The applicant will teach three courses per semester in our interdisciplinary, undergraduate Environmental Studies program. The teaching load includes our introductory Environmental Studies class and special topics courses at the 200- and 300-level in the candidate’s area of expertise, as well as the opportunity to team-teach our senior capstone seminar. Interest in conducting undergraduate collaborative research in Environmental Studies is highly desirable. Ph.D. to be complete by time of hire.
