Policy Advisor to International Joint Commission addresses USSEE
Dave Dempsey, policy advisor for the International Joint Commission (IJC) and widely recognized as a leading expert on Great Lakes environmental history and policy, addressed the USSEE during Monday’s luncheon on the topic of “Great Lakes, Great Economy: A History of Exploitation and a Look Ahead at Renewal”.
Dempsey has helped shape conservation and Great Lakes policy for 26 years and is an author and co-author of six books, including On the Brink: The Great Lakes in the 21st Century and Great Lakes for Sale: From Whitecaps to Bottlecaps. He previously served as environmental advisor to former Michigan Governor James Blanchard, and as Communications Director for Conservation Minnesota, a nonprofit organization in Minneapolis.
