Visiting Assistant Professor – Environmental Social Scientist
The Environmental Science Department at Allegheny College invites applicants for a two-year Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning August 2014. We seek an individual with interdisciplinary teaching and research interests in environmental studies and a strong commitment to undergraduate education. We are particularly interested in candidates with teaching and research expertise in the social sciences. A Ph.D. and previous teaching experience strongly preferred. Teaching load is equivalent to 6 courses per year and will include core courses in the department’s curriculum as well as upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Such courses may include political ecology, environmental policy, environmental geography, global environmental governance, and ecological economics. Allegheny College is a highly selective private liberal arts college with a dedicated faculty of teacher-scholars.
