Allison Murphy, Executive Director
Allison Murphy has been a member of the United States Society of Ecological Economics community since 2023, first stepping into the role of Undergraduate Student Board Member. After helping to produce the 2024 USSEE Conference in Schenectady, New York, her interest in diving deeper to support and help disseminate the work that USSEE does was solidified. She is new to the study of EE, but not new to managing teams, organizing events, customer service, or digital media management. Her diverse work experiences come from owning/running a custom sewing + design business; working for various farms/ranches in the region; building + teaching sewing classes/workshops for a variety of ages; and collaborating with teams to create and produce events that focus on art, design, and environmental impact.
Allison is currently in her senior year at Oregon State University-Cascades studying Economics, and will enter a Masters in Teaching program (Social Sciences endorsement) in 2025. She lives in Central Oregon with her three-generation family on ten acres of sagebrush steppe, where they seasonally raise a variety of proteins (hogs, turkeys, rabbits, chickens, eggs), actively participating in the food sovereignty of the region and positively participating in the local economy.
