
Assoc. Professor: Water Resources
The Department of Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University is hiring an assistant or associate professor in the area of water resources. The position is 60% research and 40% extension.
Kansas faces a wide array of challenges related to water across the state. Challenges include the depletion of the High Plains Aquifer, sedimentation of reservoirs, and degraded quality of surface and groundwater. This position will develop a research program on water resource problems as they relate to agriculture and the environment. Potential topics include the demand and value of water, alternative management strategies and institutions, the economics of conservation practices, and the design and consequences of incentives and policies. This position will also engage with local, state, and federal agencies and stakeholders to disseminate applied research and extension programs.
