Economist at EPA’s Office of Water
The Water Economics Center at the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Water is looking to hire several economists! Apply if you are interested in joining a crack team of economists who research questions and conduct analysis in support of programs and regulations under both the Clean Water Act and the Safe Drinking Water Act. It’s an exciting time to be part of the water program at EPA.
We conduct the benefit-cost analyses and we do research in service of building tools and improving methodologies for valuing benefits and assessing costs. We work closely with our colleagues in the National Center for Environmental Economics and the Office of Research and Development on cross-cutting issues. We work in an intellectually stimulating, multidisciplinary environment, working closely with scientists, engineers and attorneys. Our current work touches on issues – in no particular order – such as environmental justice, PFAS compounds, climate change, stated preference valuation, hedonic analysis, affordability, meta-analysis, machine learning and more. For full details and how to apply, see https://www.usajobs.gov/job/741728000. Applications are due to the USAJOBS website by August 14, 2023.
Recent recipients of an environmental economics Ph.D. qualify for positions at the GS-11 level, and with job experience, may qualify at the GS-12 level. Please share widely with anyone who might be interested.
