The Department of Community Sustainability (CSUS) at Michigan State University invites applications for the Guyer-Seevers Endowed Chair in Natural Resources Conservation, a tenure system position to be hired at the level of full professor.  We seek a colleague with a clear vision of establishing an integrated program of research, Extension, and teaching who embraces the Department’s core value of community engagement.  They will take a leadership role in bringing together interested parties across jurisdictions and across disciplinary boundaries to tackle landscape-level conservation challenges in Michigan and the Great Lakes region at the intersection of water, climate, biodiversity and environmental justice.

Mellichamp Chair in Racial Environmental Justice

As part of the University of California Santa Barbara’s Mellichamp Chairs in Racial Environmental Justice faculty cluster, UCSB’s Environmental Studies Program seeks to hire a Mellichamp Chair in Racially Just, Resilient and Sustainable City Futures. The ideal scholar will be a faculty member who engages environmental and/or climate justice challenges through a focus on racially just, resilient, and sustainable city futures. By 2050, 70% of all people will live in urban environments, driving important environmental changes and transforming the way that human society interacts with its environment. At the same time, urban settings highlight striking inequalities, including access to a clean environment and resilience to environmental disruptions: disadvantaged and racially diverse communities in the world’s cities are often exposed to higher levels of pollution and climate disruption and have insufficient resources to mitigate environmental stressors.

The University of Oregon Department of Economics invites applications for the Raymond F. Mikesell Chair in Environmental and Resource Economics to begin Fall 2024. This position will carry tenure and candidates will be considered for appointment at either the rank of Associate or Full Professor. Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. in economics or a closely related discipline and an established record of outstanding research that includes a significant number of publications in high quality scholarly journals in the field of environmental and natural resource economics. The successful candidate will also have an established record of, or otherwise demonstrate skills required for, excellence in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level economics courses, with a preference for candidates who demonstrate potential for high quality mentorship of graduate and undergraduate research.
