M.S. Research Assistant
Dr. Jenny Apriesnig at the College of Business at Michigan Tech University is recruiting a master’s student in Applied Natural Resource Economics to assist with a regional economic analysis as part of an ongoing EPA-funded project. Duties will include evaluating and synthesizing regional economic data, working with team members to develop scenarios to evaluate energy transitions, using IMPLAN to evaluate scenarios, and developing and applying a computable general equilibrium model.
Required skills include effective written and oral communication, understanding of the circular flow of the economy, ability to synthesize data and create effective visuals.
Desired skills include experience with IMPLAN, regional economics, regression analysis, programming, and processing data along with a solid understanding of intermediate micro- and macro- economics.
The research assistantship includes 1.5 years of tuition and stipend starting Fall semester of 2024.
